Wow! Look, the last part of the Martini Racing soap opera is here! Today Four Boars Garage will line up the most famous three rally cars of all the time, and some italian delicacy from the Superturismo and the DTM world.
In 1982 Martini signed with Lancia works, sponsoring their brand new Lancia 037, a mid-engined monster purely for the Group B World Rally Championship. “The car won Lancia the manufacturers’ world championship in the 1983 season. It is the last rear-wheel drive car to win the WRC.” Wikipedia
Another Group B beauty, the Lancia Delta S4. It raced in 1985 and 1986, than Group B was banned because of numerous deadly crashes (Henri Toivonen lost his life in a Delta S4, don’t watch the video!). The car finished third in 1985 and second place in 1986 in the manufacturers’ world championship.
Today’s last rally car, and my first personal favourite from the rally history, the Group A Lancia Delta Integrale. This little beast won the constructors’ wolrd title in a record six times in a row from ’87 to ’92 (whatta good taste :D).
Few days ago, I saw a 155 in live. For me this is the most beautiful car that Alfa Romeo has ever built. The 155 won the Italian Superturismo championship in 1992 with Nicola Larini at the wheel. The Alfa 155 V6 TI started racing in 1993 in the DTM, and it was painted in Martini Racing livery in 1995, sadly they weren’t competitive.
And finally, the 150th anniversary Martini Harleys from Shaw Speed & Custom. More pics of the Martini Sportster on the link below: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10152919919705234.1073741857.441656270233&type=3
