There is no better way to start March, than to write/read the third part of Four Boars Garage’s compilation of Martini Racing machineries. What do we have here today? Let’s see…
The most of the Martini Racing sponsored cars were white, gray or red coloured. The Lotus 80 F1 car is hanging out a little bit from the row. In 1979 Martini moved to 1978 season winner Team Lotus, with Mario Andretti and Carlos Reutemann at the wheel, but they didn’t achieve any victory…
As the biggest Porsche fan, i’m glad to show you as much Porsches as possible, from all kind of events in car racing history. This two pictured above are the 911 SC Safari models, with other name, the 953’s. The heavily modified 911 won the 1984 Paris-Dakar Rally driven by René Metge and Dominique Lemoyne.
In 1981, Martini Racing supported the Italian Lancia in car racing with the Lancia Monte Carlo, which won the 1979, 1980 and 1981 World Sportscar Championship, Lancia LC1 and my favourite from this list, the Lancia LC2, the Ferrari engine powered monster, that won the World Sportscar Championship from 1983 to 1986.
In 1982 Martini debuted in F1 Powerboat World Championship with Renato Molinari in the cockpit, who “missed the F1 Powerboat World Championship title by a single point, but won the following two seasons” (Wikipedia).
