After the Jägermeister Racing livery, i thought it would be very nice, to write a post about the Martini Racing cars. “Martini & Rossi is an Italian multinational alcoholic beverage company primarily associated with the Martini brand of vermouth and also with sparkling wine.” (Wikipedia) The company was based in Torino, in 1863. Their sponsorship program started in 1968, with the well known red, light blue and dark blue stripes.
Martini’s first sponsorship in the 1962 Sebring 12 hours race. Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint Zagato.
In 1969 Martini teamed up with Porsche, supporting the factory team to enter two Porsche 907 K’s on several races. This picture was taken on the Targa Florio “race track” in 1970.
In the 1970’s Martini become famous in connection with Porsche motorports. The 1971 Le Mans 24H race winner Martini Porsche 917.
In 1972 Martini Racing joined the F1 races with the italian team Tecno, but after two unsucsessfull years left Formula One. (on the pictures above: 1972 Tecno PA 123/1, 1973 Tecno E371, 1973 Tecno PA 123 B)
One of my favorite cars on todays list, the 1973 Targa Florio winner Porsche 911 RS chasing a Porsche 914.
